Last week My Own Den had it’s first Pop Up Shop in Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre and it was a blast. A condition of the stall was to dress as a Victorian trader something I embraced with more outward enthusiasm than I felt!
It is one thing selling things online to your target customer it’s quite another when you actually meet them. Good news- we had our target customer spot on. I could see our target customers in a crowd and accurately predict who’d be interested and who wouldn’t.
Our first pop up shop was a great success and we learnt more in those four days than in all the days researching prior to launch. Our pop up shop gave us a chance to test different products and approaches to our display and layout and crucially talk to customers.
Pop up Shop Pom Pom Tastic
Surprisingly initially neither our beautiful pompom garlands nor our pompom lights sold well, we had a trickle of sales on our first day. On day two I started canvassing opinion, confusingly everyone liked them.
Then a clue- I like them but what do you do with them? Cue a change in display as pictured above and poms poms garlands and lights both started selling like hot cakes, so much so that we placed a second order!
These red and white pompom garlands make a lovely addition to any den at Christmas. In fact we’re got an offer on pom pom lights and garlands this week, head over to Facebook for more information. We are also running a competition to win some PomPom lights here, it’s easy to enter so try your luck.
Pop Up Shop best sellers
We could have sold these all day every day! Currently we’re waiting for new stock from Werkhaus for their brilliantly designed and well made quirky pen holders. They were a real hit and I even ended up selling the display items such was the demand. If you want one, you can place a preorder here, delivery is expected early next week.
I hope you’re getting ready for Christmas!
